Quiver Topology and RG Dynamics

Renormalization group flows of quiver gauge theories play a central role in determining the low-energy properties of string vacua. We demonstrate that useful predictions about the RG dynamics of a quiver gauge theory may be extracted from the global structure of its quiver diagram. For quiver theories of a certain type, we develop an efficient and practical method for determining which superpot...

Stability of Quiver Representations and Topology Change

We study phase structure of the moduli space of a D0-brane on the orbifold C3/Z2 × Z2 based on stability of quiver representations. It is known from an analysis using toric geometry that this model has multiple phases connected by flop transitions. By comparing the results of the two methods, we obtain a correspondence between quiver representations and geometry of toric resolutions of the orbi...

Computational Dynamics and Topology

Locking configuration of hard balls (disks) in box (square) The archetypal dynamical system of statistical physics, the hard frictionless balls in a box (Boltzmann gas) has been studied for a century. Yet the basic question about the topology of these spaces – are these spaces connected? – is unanswered, in the physically interesting and important gaseous regime (when nr →∞, but nr2 → 0). In pr...

Non RG logarithms via RG equations

We compute complete leading logarithms in Φ4 theory with the help of Connes and Kreimer RG equations. These equations are defined in the Lie algebra dual to the Hopf algebra of graphs. The results are compared with calculations in parquet approximation. An interpretation of the new RG equations is discussed.

Spectroscopy of K+ x Rg and transport coefficients of K+ in Rg (Rg=He-Rn).

Ab initio calculations employing the coupled-cluster method, with single and double substitutions and accounting for triple excitations noniteratively [CCSD(T)], are used to obtain accurate potential energy curves for the K(+)He, K(+)Ne, K(+)Ar, K(+)Kr, K(+)Xe, and K(+)Rn cationic complexes. From these potentials, rovibrational energy levels and spectroscopic parameters are calculated. In addit...
